Academic Advisor - Juli Wood

Welcome to my advising page! Every SPC student is assigned an Academic Advisor for their particular major or intended major. If you are currently enrolled and do not know who your Advisor is, please log onto your CampusConnect account and click Demographics.  Your Advisor's name will be listed on that site.

NEW STUDENTS: click here.

I am one of many advisors who advise the undecided or General Studies majors. If you have a question about academic issues, educational planning, transferring or improving your academics, and I am listed as your Advisor, please email me at jwood@southplainscollege.edu or call (806) 894-9611, ext. 2367 and make an appointment.

If you have personal issues or concerns, a counselor staffed in the Counseling Center may be of help to you. Please contact the Counseling Center for an appointment, call (806) 894-9611, ext. 2366 or 2368.

Advisee Roles and Responsibilities:

Whether your goal is to graduate from college or get certified in a technical field, SPC degrees and certificates can help you get there. Your Advisor can assist you with choosing the right degree that will help you meet your goals.

Associate of Arts (AA):
If you wish to continue your education at a four-year college or university, the associate of arts degree may be right for you. While certain courses are recommended, the requirements are essentially the basic courses appropriate for the first two years of many baccalaureate degree programs.

Associate of Science (AS):
Like the AA degree, contains 1st and 2nd year bachelor’s degree courses for transfer to a four-year college or university. The AS degree includes a higher concentration in math and science than the AA degree.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and Certificates:
This degree is designed to prepare you for immediate employment in an occupational or technical field.
