Driving Directions from Lubbock to the Reese Technology Center

4th street creates the northern border of TTU campus, 19th street creates the southern border of the TTU campus


FROM 4TH STREET AND UNIVERSITY AVE 

Beginning at the intersection of 4th street and University, drive west on 4th Street.  You will drive past the TTU football stadium.  Shortly after you pass the stadium,  4th street will fork off to the north so stay in the RIGHT LANE.  There is construction through here. 

As you go west, you will cross Quaker Ave. and Slide Road (look for the United grocery store on the southeast side).  Straight ahead you should be able to see the overpass of Loop 289.  Continue with the directions below.

FROM LOOP 289 AND 4TH STREET

The Reese Technology Center is approx. 6 miles west of Loop 289 (Loop 289 circles Lubbock and 4th Street will go under west Loop 289)

4th Street going west will end at the T-intersection with Research Blvd.   The entrance to the Reese Technology Center will be on your right.

As you enter the Reese Technology Center, the first intersection you will come to is Gilbert Dr.

Turn left onto Gilbert Dr.  After about a block, the first street on your left is Hoover St.

Turn left onto Hoover and follow it around past Westex Documents.  The second large building is Building 8 of South Plains College.

Helpful landmarks on West 4th street

  • You will drive past a Super Wal-Mart on the south-on your left
  • a Sonic drive thru on the north –your right
  • you will cross Frankford Ave.
  • pass through the light at Milwaukee, Applebees is on the left.
  • As you are driving, you may begin to think you are out in the country-You Are! -but keep going
  • You will stop at an intersection, the cross street is FM 179 (Inler St.)
  • Cross over FM 179 and the railroad tracks.  On your right you will see Cagle Steaks (this restaurant has a great western feel and the steaks are great and reasonably priced)
  • Continue going west and you will end at Reese Technology Center.

FROM 19th STREET AND UNIVERSITY AVE.  (19th St. is also Hwy. 114)

Beginning at 19th and University, you will drive west on 19th.  You will continue past the Tech campus on your right.  There is construction taking place here also, so when you approach the crazy intersection at Brownfield Hwy and 19th, be careful to stay in the right lane, but do not take the Y curve around to the right.  Continue heading west as the lanes converge headed toward Quaker.  Once you pass Quaker, you are leaving the construction!  Continue west past Slide Rd.  You will pass Lubbock Christian University on the south, your left.

Some main streets you will cross are Frankford, Iola, and Milwaukee.  Continue driving west and you will reach the intersection of FM 179 (Inler) and 19th.  Keep going, you are going the right way! 

The next intersection after FM 179 (Inler) is Research Blvd.  You will turn north, or right, onto Research.  You will see the Reese Golf Course to your left.  Continue to the 2nd set of entry gates, (you will be past the golf course).  Turn left into Reese Technology Center.

As you enter the Reese Technology Center, the first intersection you will come to is Gilbert Drive.

Turn left onto Gilbert Dr.  After about a block, the first street on your left is Hoover.

Turn left onto Hoover and follow it around past Westex Documents.  The second large building is Building 8 of South Plains College.
