Financial Aid Summer I 2009 Timeline
You must apply for funding through South Plains College (NOT Texas Tech University).
Summer I 2009 Gateway students who are applying for Federal Financial Aid should do the following:
- Complete the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid - the FAFSA – online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. You and you parents should each apply for a PIN number at http://www.pin.ed.gov/ to use as your electronic signature on the FAFSA form.

Be sure to include South Plains College’s school code – 003611. This is necessary for your Federal Student Aid Report information to be sent to SPC.
- Master Promissory Notes for FFEL loans can be accessed at the South Plains College website: www2.southplainscollege.edu/financial_aid/loan application process.
The preferred deadline to apply for Summer 2009 aid is March 1, 2009. The Financial Aid Office cannot guarantee that files completed after this date will be funded before summer school starts. As such, you should be prepared to pay tuition, fees and books by other means until your aid funds arrive.
