Paying for college

Let us know how we are doing. Fill out our Financial Aid Survey.

The philosophy of financial aid is that the educational opportunities of capable students should not be limited by their financial resources. Although the primary responsibility for financing rests with the student and his/her immediate family, it is recognized that many students will require additional assistance in order to finance their educational goals. The objective of the financial aid program at South Plains College is to provide assistance based on documented financial need to students unable to attend college without such aid.

At South Plains College you have access to an affordable, high-quality education. Remember, there are always options you can use to help pay tuition and fees, including financial aid and veterans benefits.

Campus Locations

Students should contact the campus Financial Aid Office on the campus they will attend for assistance in completing financial aid or scholarship applications and for answers to specific questions about the financial aid process. All campuses call 806.894.9611 Ext 3800.

Students, who received financial aid during fall/spring semester(s), that are pre-registered for summer classes will be awarded summer grant funds automatically. These grants will pay part or all of students’ tuition and fees without any action on their part.

As per regulation 34 CFR 668.20, we cannot award the student financial aid for classes that do not count toward his degree or certificate. If you are enrolled in remedial classes only, you are not considered to be enrolled in either a certificate or associates degree program. Financial aid cannot pay for 100% remedial course work. Be sure you are enrolled in at least 1 college level credit course each semester.

Any student who register for classes, but is not   able to attend  for any reason, must withdraw   from those classes before the first class day or s/he will owe South Plains College 30% of the cost of tuition and fees for those classes.   See page 33 of the General Catalog for more information.
