50th Anniversary Founders and All-College Reunion
November 9-10, 2007

Reconnect and recollect at the college’s very first All-College Reunion. The invitation is out to all former SPC students, faculty and staff to join us as we honor our founders and the college’s original faculty and administration. A campus-wide open house, special luncheon, Texan Basketball Games, recognition dinner and lots of opportunities to remember your college days at SPC. 


Friday, Nov. 9, 2007

6:00 p.m. - Founders Reception and Recognition, Sundown Room

Hosted by the South Plains College Board of Regents, this event will honor those Founders and their families who helped establish South Plains College, including 1956 Citizens Committee members, original and past members of the SPC Board of Regents, and original faculty and administration, and faculty and staff from the founding years. Special guests will include all retired SPC employees, local community leadership, and current SPC administrative and instructional leadership. This is an invitation only event.

 

7:00 p.m. - SPC Texan Classic, SPC vs. LCU, Texan Dome

The SPC Texans will take on the Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals JV team. SPC’s rivalry with LCU is 50 years old this year.

 

 

Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007

11:00 a.m. - Reunion Registration Opens , Student Center Mall

 

11 a.m.-3 p.m. - Reunion Meet and Greet,  Student Center

SPC Alumni can reconnect with Classmates and Faculty throughout the day as the College hosts a Campus Open House. Class mixers by department and programs will be available, as well as campus tours. Departmental faculty will be on hand to greet and visit with former students and show you what has changed since the last time you were on campus. It will be a great time for remembering your days as an SPC Texan.



12-1:30 p.m. - Texan Exes Reunion Lunch, Student Center

Stay on campus and enjoy burgers and hotdogs 50s-style, alumni entertainment and door prizes.  It’s complimentary to all who register.

 

3:00 p.m. - SPC Texan Classic, SPC vs. Coastal Bend, Texan Dome

South Plains College Texans will take on Coastal Bend College in the final game of the SPC Texan Classic.  Complimentary game tickets will be available for those who register. Former Lady Texan and Texan athletes will be recognized by the Athletic Department during halftime of the game.

5:30 p.m.  - Reunion Recognition Barbecue - PE Complex

The SPC Alumni Association will host a recognition barbecue dinner that will honor student leadership over the years at SPC. The Creative Arts Department will present an entertainment showcase, featuring students, faculty and alumni that will top off a great day. Reservations are $10 per person. Payment will be collected at time of registration.
