Beginning with the Fall 1989 semester, all students who are not otherwise exempt must take an approved placement test (THEA, ACCUPLACER, ASSET, COMPASS) prior to enrollment in college level classes.  ACCUPLACER is a computer-based test. 

 

Registration for testing on the Plainview Campus is handled through the Testing and Learning Center at the Reese Center.  Please contact the Reese Testing Center at (806) 885-3048, ext. 4631, prior to registering for an exam.  Registration may be done in person at Building 8, Room 823 at the Reese Center in Lubbock, 819 Gilbert Drive or on the Plainview campus or by mail or fax.

 

Pre-registration is required for each test.  Students must show a current picture ID and their signed Social Security card, or some other official document with their Social Security Number on it.  To pre-register by mail or fax, go to www.southplainscollege.edu/test/plainview/plainviewaccuregr.htm and follow all instructions.

 

The test fee is $30 to take all required sections: Reading, Math, English multiple choice and an Essay.  The cost for taking either one or two sections is $20.  Payment must be received at the time of registration.
