Track IT! Work Order Procedures

In order to serve our faculty and staff efficiently and effectively, Information Technology operates by requiring that all work orders or questions be made through the Help Desk or Track IT! work order software. Please DO NOT contact any of our technicians regarding problems or work orders.

There are three methods for making a service requests for individual technical problems.

  1. On the web: open your own work order using the Track IT! system, accessible at https://support.southplainscollege.edu employees now can login to Trackit with your SPC domain username and password (in the form of SPC\username).  All employees have selfservice enabled, so you can create and track your own work orders.
  2. Email: send your request via e-mail to the Information Technology Help Desk at olozano@southplainscollege.edu. A confirmation e-mail containing a work order number will be sent when work order is opened.
  3. Phone: call extension 2601 where the request will be logged in a work order system. It is very important to have specific information ready and available to give to the Help Desk when you call so that we can log and track your request accurately.

When calling the help desk be prepared to give the following information:

  • Full Name, Campus, Building, Room, Extension, and the nature of the problem.
  • Login problem - user name, password, description of the problem, and exact error message.
  • If calling in for someone else, please be able to provide us with the above and also with up-to-date contact information for that user.

 Accessing Track-IT! work order system

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Log into the Track IT! System at https://support.southplainscollege.edu/ 
  3. Type in your SPC domain username and password (in the form of SPC\username).
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click New Request in the Contents list to open a new work order. Type all requested information in the fields Summary - short description of your request Phone Phone Extension Department E-mail addressOffice/Room Type of request Priority of request
  6. Describe the problem or request in more detail in the Description box
  7. Click on Save to create a new work order in the system. A Request Confirmation displays to confirm receipt of the work order and provides the work order number.
  8. Click OK.

Work Order Status

Status of your work order can be viewed in the Previous Requests option.

  1. Click on Previous Requests in the Contents list.
  2. Double-click on a request to see the details of the request.
  3. Click on OK to close the detail view of a previous request and return to the list view.
