Wireless Setup Instructions - Windows Vista
South Plains College is happy to offer free wireless internet service to its students in many area of its campuses. This document contains configuration instructions so you will be able to setup your wireless ready Windows Vista computers.
1.) Begin by clicking on your Windows orb (Start menu) and then click on CONTROL PANEL
2.) Click View network status and tasks from under the Network and Internet option.

3.) Click Setup a connection or network from the left hand side of the Network and Sharing Center

4.) Click Manually connect to a wireless network from the Choose a connection option window, then click Next.

5.) Enter the following information for the wireless network:
- Network name: SPC
- Security type: WPA-Enterprise
- Encryption type: TKIP
Press the Next button

6.) In the "Successfully added SPC" window, click Change connection settings:

7.) In the SPC Wireless Network properties window, click the Security tab then press the Settings... button

8.) In the Protected EAP Properties dialog box, remove the check box next to "Validate server certificate" then click the Configure... towards the bottom of the Window

9.) In the EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties dialog box, remove the check next to "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password" then press OK

10.) Complete adding the wireless network configuration by:
- Press OK on the Protected EAP Properties dialog box.
- Press OK on the SPC Wireless Network properties dialog box.
- Press Close on the Manually connect to a wireless network dialog box.
- close the Network and Sharing Center window
11.) When your computer is in range of the SPC wireless network you will get a popup at the bottom of your screen requesting additional credentials. Click this popup dialog.

12.) You will be prompted to enter your Credential for the SPC network. In this dialog box, enter your SPC domain username, password and the domain SPC. Then, click OK.

13.) Your computer will then authenticate to the SPC network and you will have access to all network and Internet resources. Your computer with store your login information. You won't have to enter this information again until your password changes or expires.
