BME. Provost
The Provost is the chief administrative officer of the Reese campus. The Provost coordinates specific functions of the Dean of Instruction, the Associate Dean and Director of Continuing Education, and the Director of Student Support Services. The Provost exercises overall responsibility for instruction, continuing education, student services, plant operation and maintenance, and auxiliary enterprises.
1. The Provost works closely with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Vice President for Finance and Administration, the Controller, and the Reese campus administrative officers in the budgetary process.
2. The Provost is instrumental in the interpretation of policy and procedural matters and assists other administrators in communicating them to the faculty and staff of the Reese campus.
3. The Provost works closely with the President on personnel matters and on decisions regarding persons to be employed as recommended by the Reese campus administrative officers.
4. The Provost approves all college publications such as catalogs, bulletins, brochures, and calendars, for the Reese campus, although the responsibility for specific work on them is delegated to the various officers concerned.
5. The Provost works with the Advisory Board established for the purpose of introducing local needs into the operation of the Reese campus.
6. The Provost serves as liaison officer from the Reese campus to area schools, groups and agencies, and individuals.
7. The Provost assists in the administration of the evaluation program for the Reese campus faculty, staff, and administration.
8. The Provost serves as a permanent member of the Administrative Council and other committees as appropriate.
9. The Provost is responsible for the authorization and supervision of data, information, and reports which are generated through institutional research on the Reese campus.
