Gateway Program Information
Fall 2006 and Summer 2007 Gateway Program
Financial Aid Information
You must apply for funding through South Plains College (not Texas Tech
University).
Fall 2006 Gateway students who are applying for Federal Financial Aid should do the following:

Complete the 2006-07 Free Application for Federal Student Aid - the FAFSA – online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You and you parents should each apply for a PIN number at www.PIN.ed.gov to use as your electronic signature on the FAFSA form.

You will need information from your and your parent’s 2005 tax returns and W-2’s to complete the financial information. If your parents are separated or divorced, you will need information from only one of them.

Be sure to include South Plains College’s school code – 003611 and Texas Tech University’s - 003644. This is necessary for your Federal Student Aid Report information to be sent to SPC (and TTU – should you decide to transfer mid-semester).

Other forms may be required to complete your financial aid award. These forms can be accessed at the South Plains College website-from www.southplainscollege.edu click on Quick Links and then on Financial Aid to find these forms. Master Promissory Notes for FFEL loans can be accessed at ‘Loans by Web’.
The preferred deadline to apply for Fall 2006 aid is June 10, 2006. The Financial Aid Office cannot guarantee that files completed after this date will be funded before the fall semester starts. As such, you should be prepared to pay tuition, fees and books by other means until your aid funds arrive.
Summer 2007 Gateway students who are applying for Federal Financial Aid should do the following:
