Accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools facilitates the transfer of credit to other colleges and universities. Since degree requirements are not the same at all colleges and universities, students who plan to transfer are strongly encouraged to work closely with an academic advisor in preparing their class schedule each semester. It is also suggested that students consult the current catalog of the institution to which the student intends to transfer.

Program Accreditation

Selected programs at South Plains College also maintain accreditation with independent accrediting bodies in order for program graduates to meet the requirements for licensure. These programs include the following.

• The Vocational Nursing Program is accredited by the Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
• The Emergency Medical Services Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
• The Health Information Services program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

• The Respiratory Care Program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Respiratory Care.
• The Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs.
• The Cosmetology Program is approved by the Texas Cosmetology Commission.
• The Law Enforcement Technology program is approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education.
