Admissions and Records Office:

Online and printed Class Schedules should be available the middle of April. For registration information, please note the information on your acceptance letter and in the CampusConnect packet. Fall Gateway students will register for classes at the summer conferences; classes for the Fall Semester at the Reese campus are reserved for Gateway students' enrollment. Preferred Application Deadline: First Summer Session - April 4th; Fall Semester - June 1st. August 20 is the deadline for Early Registration payment of tuition and fees for Fall.
You may pay online and set up the payment plan using Campus Connect.

Gateway to Success Summer Conferences provides New Student information, Advisement, and Early Registration for students admitted to the Fall 2009 Gateway Program. Space for each Summer Conference is limited. Information about the Summer Conferences is available through the Gateway website, www.southplainscollege.edu/summer-conferences.

Dean of Student Life and Dean of Students are located on the Levelland Campus, Ext. 2379.

Housing Application, Cost, and Policies. SPC housing is only available at the Levelland Campus.

If you are interested in Federal Financial Aid for the Gateway Program, you MUST apply through South Plains College Financial Aid Office. Fall 2009 Gateway students who are applying for Federal Financial Aid must complete the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid and include South Plains College (School Code: 003611) and Texas Tech University (School Code: 003644) as recipients of the Student Aid Report information. Financial Aid for this program is NOT available through Texas Tech. Students and parents can get PIN numbers (electronic signature) for FAFSA on the web at www.pin.ed.gov/. Once the PIN numbers have been received in approximately one week, students and parents should complete the application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov/ using information from their 2008 tax form.

Master Promissory Notes for FFEL and PLUS loans can be accessed at the South Plains College website at www.southplainscollege.edu/financial aid/loan application process/ under Quick Links, select Financial Aid, from the menu on the left select Loan Application Process (for Fall/Spring). (Other paperwork may be required from students who are coded for verification by the Federal Processor.)
Since funds are limited in each program and awards are assigned as applications are completed, early application for aid is essential.
Fall and Spring deadline is June 10. The Financial Aid Office cannot guarantee that files completed after these dates will be funded before school starts. Students and parents should be prepared to pay tuition, fees and books up front and let gift aid or loans reimburse them at a later date.

You are required to have attempted the THEA or other placement test BEFORE you can register for classes. You must be TSI complete in order to participate in the Summer I Gateway Program. TSI testing information may also be obtained from your high school counselor or through your local community college or university.

Your Resources - Where to go for information

Students wishing to participate in the Gateway Program must first complete the application process for Texas Tech University:  admissions.ttu.edu/gateway.asp  Students cannot apply for the Gateway Program directly through South Plains College.
 
Texas Tech will provide South Plains College with the list of freshmen applicants who have indicated an interest in the Fall Gateway Program. Once the South Plains College Records and Admissions Office receives the list from TTU, a participation letter will be mailed to the student.  Texas Tech will also send the list of interested students to the Counseling Center at the Reese Center.  The Counseling Center will mail a LARGE WHITE ENVELOPE (beginning April 1, 2006 ) with information about and registration materials for the Texan to Techsan A Gateway to Success Summer Conference and registration.

Students wishing to participation in the Gateway Program must submit a completed South Plains College Application for Admission (online).  If you have difficulty with the online process you can print the pdf format and mail it to the address on the form.  Be sure to write GATEWAY PROGRAM on the top of the form.  Admission form Look under admissions for the forms in both online and pdf formats.

South Plains College MUST have an official high school transcript verifying date of completion of high school.  Students need to submit an official high school transcript as soon as they complete the online SPC application.  This will provide the admissions office with information.  After high school completion, students must have AN OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT DESIGNATING COMPLETION DATE SUBMITTED TO:

New Student Orientation for Fall Gateway Students ONLY:

The new student orientation and early registration for the Fall Gateway students is called the Texan To Techsan…A Gateway to Success Summer Conference.  Texas Tech University will notify the Counseling Center at the SPC-Reese Center of students that have declared an intention to participate in the Fall/Spring Gateway Program.  Once the Counseling staff receives the list from TTU, beginning April 1, 2006 a large white envelope containing detailed information and registration materials for the Texan to Techsan… A Gateway to Success Summer Conference will be mailed.  The Registration form MUST be completed and mailed to South Plains College-Reese Center, 819 Gilbert Drive, Counseling Center-Building 8, Lubbock, Texas 79416.  All Fall Gateway students and their parents are ENCOURAGED to attend one of the conferences.  Since early registration is a key part of this event, students are encouraged to attend as early as possible as classes will fill and class selection will become limited.  To learn more about the Texan to Techsan…A Gateway to Success Summer Conference and early registration opportunity visit the following web site: conferences
