What to Bring

The following personal conveniences are recommended for all residential hall students:

  • Comforter or bedspread and blankets
  • Mattress cover
  • Sheets, pillows and pillow cases
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Alarm clock
  • Computer
  • Television
  • Small microwave and refrigerator
  • Phone
  • Personal electronics
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Cleaning supplies (Smallwood Residents)
  • Laundry basket or bag
  • Laundry detergent, bleach and softener
  • Lots of quarters for the washers and dryers

Additional items that may be brought:

  • Decorations for the room (keep in mind no nails or screws are allowed in the walls)
  • Answering machines
  • Backpack
  • Fan
  • Flashlight
  • Foam mattress pad
  • Pictures
  • Stereo
  • Surge protectors


Items not allowed:

  • Sun lamps
  • Hot plates
  • Electrical heaters
  • Toaster ovens
  • Candles
  • Candle warmers
  • Potpourri burners


Please visit with your roommate to ensure that you are not duplicating the things you are bringing.
