To Apply
To apply for admission to South Plains College, the following documents must be completed and on file in the Admissions and Records Office before you will be allowed to register:

SPC Application for Admission (online application - printable application)

Dual Credit and Early Admission Application (signed by student, parent, and principal - every semester)

Updated Official High School Transcript

Test Scores (On the TAKS, the student has to make at least 2200 on the Math and at least 2200 on the English Language Arts and at least a 3 on the Written Composition Rating. If the student does not have passing scores, the student will have to test. Please refer to the Testing link for testing dates and information.)

If you are a sophomore, you must submit an Early Admissions Approval for Sophomores. (The performance indicator must be included and it must be signed by the principal of the high school and the student.)

MySPC and CampusConnect Information - MySPC is your online tool for personalized access to a wide range of campus resources. All South Plains College students, faculty, and staff have access to MySPC.
→ Students are encouraged to turn in ALL paperwork as soon as possible. To avoid complications, applications for the Fall semester should be turned in no later than August 1st and for the Spring semester, no later than December 1st.
→ Test early! Avoid the RUSH! Students should schedule testing early enough to leave enough time for a retest if necessary. SPC Policy: Students must wait a minimum of two weeks between testing before they can reschedule for a retest - NO EXCEPTIONS. Seating for Testing is limited. Schedule your test early.
TSI Testing
Students who wish to enroll in dual credit courses must first satisfy state mandated TSI requirements. Students may be exempt from this requirement based on TAKS, ACT, or SAT scores. If not exempt, the student will be required to take the THEA or Accuplacer test prior to registration. The following scores would exempt the student from taking THEA or Accuplacer exams:

TAKS scores are valid for three years from the date of testing. SAT and ACT scores are valid for five years from the date of testing. Students may now be exempt in one area.

ARD EXEMPTIONS: ARD Exempt students are exempt through IDEA Legislations but not eligible for test exemptions in Higher Education.
Registration
After your admission file is complete, you will receive a letter confirming acceptance to South Plains College. This letter will contain your SPC Username, Password, and online registration instructions. All dual credit students will register for their courses via the Internet.
Online Registration for the Summer and Fall begins April 15, 2008.
Registration Instructions:

Access MySPC Login.

You will login with your SPC Username and Password included in your acceptance letter. If you forget your SPC Username, click on the “Forgot Username” button located on the bottom left side under Campus Bookmarks. If you forget your password, email AskSPC@southplainscollege.edu.

On the left side of the MySPC Home page, click on "Student CampusConnect."

Click on “Click here to access CampusConnect”.

Click on the “Registration” heading, then “Add/Drop Courses”

On the left, highlight semester for which you are registering, and scroll down to find your high school on the right.

Highlight your high school. High school names are listed below the department listings.

Click on “List Courses”.

Click on the “Add” button adjacent to the course(s) you wish to add. The course(s) will be added to your schedule in the top portion of the screen. If you decide to drop courses during the online registration period, you may do so by selecting the “Drop” button listed next to the course.

When you have added all of your course(s), click on the "Student Information" heading. Click on "Review/Pay Account" to print your class schedule and to pay your bill. Your schedule will be deleted if payment is not received by the deadline.
Fees
Dual credit courses are offered at a reduced cost to high school students. Payment for dual credit courses can be made online or through the SPC Business Office.

Online Registration closes and payment of tuition and fees must be received in the Business Office by 3:00 p.m. on the following dates:
Summer I: May 22, 2008
Summer II: July 2, 2008
Fall: August 14, 2008
Your schedule will be deleted if payment is not received by deadline.

Online Registration re-opens and payment of tuition and fees is due the day of registration.

Online Late Registration (including adding to existing schedule or changing from one section to another) ends at 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:
Summer I: June 2, 2008
Summer II: July 8, 2008
Fall: August 26, 2008
Withdrawal from Dual Credit Courses
Withdrawal from dual credit courses must be requested in writing. This process is initiated with your high school counselor and is not complete until it is received in the Admissions and Records Office at South Plains College. Please contact your high school counselor for more information on withdrawing from dual credit courses.
Grades
Dual credit students may check their grades at the end of the semester through CampusConnect. To access CampusConnect, students first login to MySPC with the SPC Username and Password assigned to them upon acceptance and then clicking on the link titled, "CampusConnect." Grade reports are not mailed.
Transcript
Students may obtain a copy of their official South Plains College transcript by visiting the Admissions and Records Office on the Levelland Campus or by mailing a written request. An unofficial transcript is available through CampusConnect.
