Automotive Collision Repair Refinishing Technician
Automotive Refinishing TechnicianOffered at the Levelland Campus
This option in Automotive Collision Repair Technology is
for students interested in a career as an automotive refinish
technician. Emphasis is placed on surface preparation, refinish
materials, compressed air equipment maintenance and repair,
HVLP refinishing equipment maintenance, repair and gun
adjustments, color and texture matching through manufacturer
variance program, blend techniques, tinting colors, polishing
and compounding, masking for spot, panel and overall
refinishing, laying out graphics, pinstriping and basic air brush
techniques. Students are required to participate in a capstone
experience course the final semester. Students who successfully
complete the curriculum will receive an Associate of Applied
Science degree.
