Programs of Study
Automotive Technology
Automotive TechnologyOffered at the Byron Martin Advanced
Technology Center
The Automotive Technology program offers students specialized
college-level training in preparation for entry-level
positions in the automotive service industry. The program’s
curriculum is built around a core of eight instructional areas
which cover electrical systems, manual drive train and axle,
brakes, suspension and steering, engine performance, engine
repair, heating and air conditioning and automatic transmission
and transaxle servicing. This program is certified by the
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
in all eight specialty areas. Students completing the training
sequence in each of the specialties learn skills which meet ASE
standards.
The following curriculum meets all requirements for the
Associate of Applied Science degree. This program also awards
a Tech Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate upon completion of
additional technical courses.
Program advisor is Gary Ufford, coordinator and instructor
in automotive technology.
