Electronics Technology

Offered at the SPC Reese Center
The two-year program in Electronics Technology is designed
to provide a broad background in electronic theory and practice.
Upon completion of this curriculum, students will be prepared
for entry-level positions as electronic technicians in the areas of
computers, electronic maintenance, manufacturing, field service
engineering, communications and other related electronic
fields. The curriculum meets all requirements for the Associate
of Applied Science degree. The program also awards the Tech
Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate upon completion of additional
technical courses.

Program advisor is Raymond Elizondo, program coordinator and
associate professor in electronics technology.

Tech Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate
An Enhanced Skills Certificate is a credential that is awarded
concurrently with an approved Associate of Applied Science
degree or as an additional certificate upon completion of specified
technical courses. The following courses are required for
this certificate.

Electronics Technology Certificate

This one-year Electronics Technology Certificate Option
is designed to provide students with basic skills in electronics
theory and practice. Upon completion of this curriculum,
students will be prepared for entry-level positions as basic electronics
technicians in the areas of computers, electronic maintenance,
field service engineering, communications and other
electronics fields. Electronics related electives allow students
to take courses specific to their areas of interest. This certificate
program can be completed and all of the listed courses can
be applied to the Associate of Applied Science degree program
in Electronics. The curriculum meets all requirements for the
Certificate of Proficiency.

This is a TSI-waived certificate. Students declaring this
major are not subject to the TSI regulations unless they enroll
in a course outside the prescribed curriculum.
