"Meghan has a solid foundation upon which to build her college career by beginning at South Plains College. This was a wonderful transitional step. She did so well in the fall (4.0 gpa) that it wasn't even a consideration to move her to TTU for spring."
Gateway parent, Fall 2007
FALL / SPRING GATEWAY STUDENTS:
The Gateway to Success Conference provides students and their parents the opportunity to visit the Reese Center and become familiar with the South Plains College facilities. During the conference there will be several occasions for students to get acquainted with other Gateway students, to meet some of the SPC faculty and administrators, and to investigate the many services available to students. Parents lead the way for the attitude and the example of participation in college. Encourage your student to participate in the summer conferences. Students who learn to network with each other, to be aware of the resources available, and to utilize these resources in college are more likely to succeed. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to learn about the Gateway program, South Plains College and the freshman experience.
Students who participate in the Gateway to Success Conference are given first priority registration for the daytime courses offered at South Plains College-Reese Center. After the last conference date, all classes will be opened for general registration and from that point on Gateway students will be considered regular students and class selection will be limited to only those classes still available! The Reese Center serves over 3,000 students so classes fill quickly.
