1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Selecting Tools menu
3. Click Windows Update
4. Click the Scan for Updates link
5. Review and Install Updates
6. Install now.
7. When it is done, you will be asked to restart your computer. Click Yes, then do it again. If you have never installed critical updates, you may have to do this 4 or 5 times.
